I don't have any problem doing what you described. Could you please give more
details ?
Maybe an excerpt from the filesystem tree (if there's no sensible data inside
it) would be useful.
You're talking about copy-paste, not cut-paste, right ?
Is this problem concerning files/directories created with a Linux system or a
Windows system ?
Oh, and have you tried checking the disk (on Linux and/or Windows) and
seeing what happens ?
