I have experimented with updating to 2.0.31 which supports both
EFI_ZBOOT with zstd as well as a UKI or stubble style PE binary with
.linux section, test build is available at
https://launchpad.net/~tobhe/+archive/ubuntu/hamoa/

This works fine on my machines as long as SB is disabled. We might have
to come up with sth for secure boot since the signature seems to be
verified at the kexec boundary which would be the zstd compressed
embedded kernel image.
