Public bug reported:
Hi,
particular problem with the KDE/Kubuntu settings dialog for network
settings for wireguard vpn settings.
I am distributing Wireguard Client configurations by puppet and ansible to a
couple of notebooks by creating the configuration files in /etc/netplan, just
without
- secret key
- shared password
which users need to set from a password manager in order to have KDE put this
in their individual password wallet.
Everything works very well and as expected, except for a particular detail:
Users have to open the NetworkManager network settings (either through the
network icon in the bottom right menu bar, or through KDE settings) and enter
two values, i.e. the secret key and the shared key by copy paste from their
password manager (like keepassxc).
Problem:
You can't save. The save/apply button (not sure about the english name,
having a german installation with a translated button) remains greyed
out, because the applet accepts copy/paste, but does not recognize this
as input and changing the data.
Users need to find other data the applet responds to und do some changes
(although already correctly set) just to make the applet realize
"something changed" and activate the save/apply button.
regards
