Ever since Ubuntu updated to the 580.xx series of graphics drivers,
certain applications hang indefinitely on exit. One good example of
this is Distroshelf, which is available from Flathub. You don't need to
do anything at all in the application, just open it, then click the exit
button.
I believe this is a known issue in the Nvidia drivers that has been
fixed upstream, but the 580.xx driver that Ubuntu recently switched to
is a couple of minor revisions too old.
