The way to build changed dramatically in later versions.
d/rules now does a lot more control, sometimes to the extend that it is too 
much (see bug 2121439).
we can't use anything from there as-is.

But since - as we see in bug 2121439 - wants to control and limit flags usage - 
just doing this minimally and staying "as it used to be" is just the right way.
Instead of connecting makefile and buildflags exports as the new builds do, 
this is just tweaking the own makefiles to stay the former way.

A small patch to the heads of
- src/arch/i386/Makefile
- src/arch/x86_64/Makefile
seems to do just that
