Public bug reported:

When trying to boot xubuntu 24.04 or 25.04 desktop installer, system
fails to boot. During boot process, the system hangs, with the screen
filled with 'stdin: invalid argument' followed by 'Unable to find a
medium containing the live filesystem'. The keyboard also stops working
at this point, and I cannot get kernel logs.

I was able to track down the issue to the USB port for the flash drive
being attached via a Renesas uPD720201 USB3 controller. This particular
mini PC uses this controller for all of the USB-A ports.

Ubuntu 20.04 live installer is able to boot successfully and does
function, and dmesg reports it was unable to load firmware to the
Renesas IC. It's using xhci_hcd driver only. USB does not work very well
in this case, as some USB devices do not work properly.

Alpine does not have any issues and loads xhci-pci-renesas and firmware
successfully in the live system.
