I was thinking that we were "just" missing the patch, but that was not
enough, since debian has a special error message that made that patch
not enough.

However, I've pushed the "fix".

Using quotes, since the root problem still exists here, and for some
reason you can't run bwrap in your setup (`bwrap --unshare-user --uid 0
--ro-bind / / /bin/true` works for you?), so that should be addressed
differently
