Public bug reported: While upgrading (with "sudo apt dist-upgrade"), I wasn't able to use sudo from another terminal.
The upgrade was in the prepare/unpack phase. So I've seen this on the upgrade terminal: $ sudo apt dist-upgrade The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required: libappstream-glib8 libhidapi-hidraw0 libmanette-0.2-0 libmunge2 libobjc-14-dev libxml2 Use 'sudo apt autoremove' to remove them. [snipped] In another shell, I tried to call another sudo command: $ sudo snap refresh sudo-rs: sudo must be owned by uid 0 and have the setuid bit set I was able to reproduce that while the upgrade was ongoing. At the end of the "apt upgrade", sudo worked fine. So I guess the "Setting up" or trigger steps at the end solved that but I didn't look further into this.
