Public bug reported:
On Kubuntu 25.10 Beta, opening System Settings → Driver Management does
nothing. After several minutes, an error message dialog window opens,
stating "su hat einen Fehler gemeldet" (see attached screenshot)
Steps to reproduce:
1. Make sure Kubuntu 25.10 Beta is up-to-date.
2. Open System Settings, navigate to Driver Management.
3. Wait.
Expected result:
1. The "Additional Drivers" dialog (software-properties-qt) opens and shows
available drivers.
Actual result:
1. The module fails to start software-properties-qt. No driver management
dialog appears.
Package versions:
- software-properties-qt version: 0.114
System info:
- Kubuntu 25.10 Beta (upgraded from 25.04)
- KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.5
- KDE Frameworks Version: 6.17.0
- Qt Version: 6.9.2
- Kernel Version: 6.17.0-5-generic (64-bit)

Additional info:
The package "software-properties-qt" was installed at all times. Launching it
directly via the terminal (sudo software-properties-qt) works as expected.
