Public bug reported:
I'm on ubuntu 22.04 LTS with ZFS and encryption
previous kernel was 6.14.0-32-generic
Installed standard updates this morning (2nd oct) which upgraded to
6.14.0-33-generic
after reboot the system drops to the BusyBox shell with the cryptsetup:
WARNING... and ALERT! /dev/mapper/... does not exist errors
ls /dev/ yeilds no disk results (i have two nvmes)
I tried:
sudo update-initramfs -u -k all
sudo update-grub
but this didn't fix it.
I rebooted into the previous kernel 32, and tried re-installing the 33
kernel with headers, but the /lib/modules/6.14.0-33-generic folder
didn't have a kernel folder inside it, so i suspect it's failing to
include the right storage drivers which is why it drops out to a busybox
shell for failing to mount the pool
I've had to reinstall (currently actually using 33 kernel) as this is a
work laptop. This has affected at least 1 other college so far who is
currently booting an older kernel
