Hi OtterBrugi, Thanks for submitting this bug report :)
I've taken a look at the kernel code around the line and file mentioned in your dmesg, and it will be difficult to tell from where this bug originated without the help of a kernel debugger. Since you haven't found a way to reproduce the error that method isn't currently possible... Using a HWE or mainline kernel might fix your issue although I the patches I've found probably fix unrelated bugs with a similar stack trace. Here are some of those, although it is probably conincidental that they fail in the same spot: [1]: https://groups.google.com/g/syzkaller-android-bugs/c/OGzJVHKNhXc/m/HUwJw0n7AgAJ [2]: https://lkml.iu.edu/1901.2/00111.html (has a arm32-specific fix for a probably unrelated issue) (There are more that you can find by searching "kernel BUG at block/bio.c:" on google with the quotes) ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Noble) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Noble) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2122694 Title: kernel BUG at block/bio.c:1642 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2122694/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
