→:~$ which transmission-gtk /usr/bin/transmission-gtk Snap 4.1.0-beta.2 can access the /tmp folder, while the stable 4.0.6 cannot. Both snap versions, however, have a working Ctrl + E or right- click -> “Open Folder” functionality.
I guess it was a mistake to mention snaps, because the issue I reported is unrelated. I’ve been using Transmission for many years and have never had any problems with symbolic links to /tmp/Downloads. The issue only started after upgrading from 25.04 to 25.10. I normally don’t use the snap versions — I had only installed them to check whether I could reproduce the issue then removed them. While snaps don’t suffer from this particular problem, they have had other consistent issues for quite a while (at least across 24.04, 25.04, and 25.10). At the moment, no Transmission Ubuntu package seems to be working properly/bug free on my system. Before 25.10, the deb package worked great for my use case and the way I was using it. This isn’t a major issue, and I can definitely live with it, but it would still be nice to see it resolved. Edit: By the way, I just replaced Downloads with a regular ~/Downloads directory, and right-click -> Open Folder (or Ctrl+E) still doesn’t work. So it’s definitely unrelated to /tmp.” -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2127722 Title: ‘Open Folder’ (Ctrl+E) does nothing in Transmission when installed from deb.
