Thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. Ubuntu 22.10 (kinetic) reached end-of-life on July 20, 2023
See this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases We appreciate that this bug may be old and you might not be interested in discussing it anymore. But if you are then please upgrade to the latest Ubuntu version and re-test. If you then find the bug is still present in the newer Ubuntu version, please add a comment here telling us which new version it is in. If you do reproduce it, please run $ GST_DEBUG='*:5' GST_DEBUG_NO_COLOR=1 totem /path/to/screencast.webm |& tee gst.log And attach gst.log. Even better, attach the screencast video itself. You may be experiencing a buggy hardware decoder. The screen caster is built into GNOME shell as a JavaScript service. It has a list of GStreamer pipelines it tries to use to record the screen. ** Changed in: gstreamer1.0 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1992463 Title: Totem can't play video captured with the "Take a Screenshot" tool To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gstreamer1.0/+bug/1992463/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
