Since sudo-rs is not a perfect replacement for sudo.ws, we want to keep sudo.ws supported in the next LTS release. Both binaries are present to make it as easy as possible to switch between the two. Installing sudo.ws will require Internet access, which is not always possible. 26.10 will give sufficient time to prepare users for the change, example updating password prompt in their scripts. We will use the conflicts/replace to make sudo-rs the only sudo provider as you suggested.
Comparison with rust-coreutils is not correct since incompatibility with gnu coreutils is seen as a bug, which is not the case for sudo-rs. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2113927 Title: split /etc/sudoers into a new package and make sudo Depend on it To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rust-sudo-rs/+bug/2113927/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
