Doesn't occur on a 4B or a 5 (but I suppose that's not terribly surprising given they have very different eth ports). Also worth noting: the bug doesn't appear to affect the operation of the ethernet port (despite the assertion failure it still obtains an address, communicates and downloads things quite happily).
