Public bug reported: The current version of libmagickcore-6.q16-6 (8:6.9.11.60+dfsg-1.3ubuntu0.22.04.5+esm3) in the Expanded Security Maintenance repo for Ubuntu 22.04 breaks the ability to specify a filename pattern when cropping images.
The regular version (8:6.9.11.60+dfsg-1.3ubuntu0.22.04.5) is not affected. This seems to be a manifestation of this upstream issue: https://github.com/ImageMagick/ImageMagick/issues/8261 I assume the issue was introduced with this change https://ubuntu.com/security/notices/USN-7728-1 Steps to reproduce: - Run this command on any image convert test.jpg -crop 128x128 output/out0_%03d.png - The output is expected to look like this: output/out0_000.png output/out0_001.png ... - Instead the output looks like this: output/out0_%03d-0.png output/out0_%03d-1.png ... ** Affects: imagemagick (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2127015 Title: ESM update of imagemagick breaks crop filename pattern support To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/imagemagick/+bug/2127015/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
