I have a problem with similar symptoms Ryzen 4650G/4655G PCs with described problem, identical instance of 24.04 on Intel PCs works good There is no BT modules in my PCs and no rows in dmesg referenced to bt firmware Reverting kernel to 6.8 solves the problem (linux-generic instead of linux-generic-hwe) Setting multi-user.target solves the problem (actually it's enough to CTRL+ALT+F1 and poweroff from tty1) Problem is GE related (XFCE in my case). Any poweroff invoked from GE (GUI powerbutton in main menu or poweroff in graphical terminal emulator) hangs up the system shutdown Removing kernel options "quiet splash" from grub configuration solved the problem for me
