Public bug reported: [ Impact ]
The patchset "drm/amdgpu: Enable MES lr_compute_wa by default"[1] enables a MES workaround to prevent MES queue from hanging on Strix Halo platforms. This however requires newer MES firmware to work. Otherwise the kernel would gate this workaround, showing the following message: amdgpu 0000:c3:00.0: amdgpu: MES FW version must be >= 0x7f to enable LR compute workaround. [ Fix ] Update the MES firmware files to the latest ones[2]. [ Test ] 1. On a Strix Halo platform, install the firmware and boot the 6.14 oem kernel. 2. In the dmesg, the above message should not appear. [ Where the problems could occur] If there are problems in the new firmware, they will affect Strix Halo platforms[3].
