Oh, I was using `uscan -dd` which does work.

I can verify that this works for gnome-usage:

uscan --download-version 46.0

but these fail:

uscan --download-version 48~rc
uscan --download-version 48.rc

I also ran the command " uscan --update-watchfile " to do a simple
conversion of the watch file to Version: 5 but it didn't make any
difference. (I didn't expect it to since the verbose output suggests
that internally, uscan is converting to Version: 5 anyway.)

I am still able to reproduce this issue with 2.25.21 (not yet in
Ubuntu).

Would you be interested in reporting this issue to Debian?
