Public bug reported:

I have a low spec hp laptop that I've just installed ubuntu on from
ubuntu-24.04.3-desktop-amd64.iso but it doesn't boot with the
6.14.0-33-generic kernel that the installer installed on the internal
disk. Downgrading to the 6.14.0-27-generic kernel (which the installer
boots with) does work.

The problem appears related to the mmc initialization. With the -27
kernel mmcblk0p[12] exist while with the -33 kernel they don't.

The error is:
mmc0: mmc_select_hs400 failed, error -110
mmc0: error -110 whilst initialising MMC card

And then it cannot find the root partition and eventually dumps you into
the busybox initramfs shell.

The -33 kernel fails to boot every time, the -27 kernel boots
successfully every time.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
