Public bug reported:
Since Germany switched from summer time (CEST) to regular time (CET),
the time displayed in the status bar is off by one hour. I have Ubuntu
set to automatically set the time and the timezone. The timezone was
detected as UTC (Busingen, Germany). The weird thing is that if untoggle
the Automatic Time Zone and proceed to select a timezone manually, if I
enter "Germany" both results "Berlin Germany" and "Busingen Germany" are
listed as UTC+0100 but if I choose "Busingen", timezone is still
displayed as UTC, but if I choose "Berlin", it's CET. If I toggle the
Automatic Time Zone switch back on, I get a notification "Time Zone
Updated to CET (UTC+01)" but it's not CET.
With the wrong time displayed in the status bar and Automatic Time Zone
being on, timedatectl shows:
