Title: Thunderbolt / USB-C DisplayPort output not working on kernel
6.14.0-34-generic (regression from -33)
Description:
After updating Ubuntu 24.04 to kernel 6.14.0-34-generic, my external monitor
connected via USB-C/Thunderbolt no longer displays any image.
Hardware:
- Laptop: MSI Raider GE68 HX 14V
- CPU: Intel Core i9-14900HX (Raptor Lake HX)
- Thunderbolt Controller: Intel Maple Ridge (8086:1134)
- OS: Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS
Symptoms:
- `xrandr` only lists eDP-1 (internal display).
- `boltctl list` shows no devices or domains.
- `dmesg | grep -i thunderbolt` only shows initial registration, no domain
activation.
- Works normally with kernel 6.14.0-33-generic.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Boot with kernel 6.14.0-34-generic.
2. Connect USB-C monitor.
3. Run `xrandr` and observe that no new display appears.
4. Reboot using 6.14.0-33-generic — everything works normally.
Expected:
External monitor over Thunderbolt/USB-C should work as in previous kernel.
Regression confirmed between 6.14.0-33 and 6.14.0-34.
