As per Glenn's suggestion, I too can confirm that this work-around has resolved my issue.
Disabling/removing my network shares in /etc/fstab and rebooting allowed me to successfully boot with kernel 6.17.0-6 I then added the network shares back into /etc/fstab and rebooted again and it worked!! Happily running with 6.17.0-6 and all network shares intact. Big thanks to Glenn for identifying this work-around. Now, can anyone explain why this happened? :-> -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2129972 Title: Ubuntu 25.10 can't boot with 6.17.0-6-generic kernel on encrypted fs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2129972/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
