Got the same problem with Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS since upgrading to a NVIDIA RTX 5070Ti (had an AMD RX 6750XT before). File dialogs slow as snails.
Tried comment #18 but didn't work (didn't try restarting the system). Then tried comment #29 and worked instantly.
