UPDATE: The workaround has been found as of today. Apparently, the
command called nemo-desktop wasn't seem to be automatically start by
default, so making a .desktop file on ~/.config/autostart called nemo-
desktop.desktop and with these answers before re-login just in case to
find out if it worked.

Name=Nemo Desktop
Comment=Starts the Nemo desktop icon manager
Exec=nemo-desktop
Terminal=false
Icon=nemo
Categories=Utility;FileManager;
X-GNOME-Autostart-enabled=true

Save and exit before re-login appears to be working successfully.
