Public bug reported:

You can't run any applications in Kubuntu 25.10 that use KDESU to gain root
privileges, such as KSystemLog or Software Sources from Discover/System
Settings.
KDESU does not pop up a window asking for the root password, and after two
minutes a window pops up saying "su returned with an error".

Operating System: Kubuntu 25.10
KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.17.0
Qt Version: 6.9.2
Kernel Version: 6.17.0-6-generic (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 1700X Eight-Core Processor
Memory: 16 GiB of RAM (15.5 GiB usable)
Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050

Package Version: kde-cli-tools 4:6.4.5

To reproduce:

Run System Settings and select "Software Sources",

or in konsole:

/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libexec/kf6/kdesu software-properties-qt

I have recompiled plasma/kde-cli-tools from source using kde-builder,
which runs correctly.
