Running pkexec software-properties-qt manually from a terminal produces the following error:
==== qt.qpa.xcb: could not connect to display qt.qpa.plugin: From 6.5.0, xcb-cursor0 or libxcb-cursor0 is needed to load the Qt xcb platform plugin. qt.qpa.plugin: Could not load the Qt platform plugin "xcb" in "" even though it was found. This application failed to start because no Qt platform plugin could be initialized. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. Available platform plugins are: minimalegl, wayland, vkkhrdisplay, eglfs, offscreen, wayland-egl, vnc, minimal, linuxfb, xcb. Aborted (core dumped) ==== libxcb-cursor0 is installed and up to date. The issue does not occur under X11, where both Discovery and software-properties-qt work correctly. It seems related to how pkexec launches Qt apps under Wayland. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2129765 Title: Kubuntu 25.10: Clicking on "Software Sources" within Discovery, doesn't launch ubuntu's software-properties To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-properties/+bug/2129765/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
