I had the same issue and it seems to be caused by gnome keyring having a wrong password saved. After removing it, I was able to connect using my SSH key.
I opened "Password and Keys". In the Password / Login menu, I remove the "Unlock password for: <key name>" entry. This is maybe related to https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome- keyring/-/issues/143. I have no Idea why this entry was here. ** Bug watch added: gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-keyring/-/issues #143 https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-keyring/-/issues/143 ** Attachment added: "Screenshot From 2025-11-10 10-07-16.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssh/+bug/2130448/+attachment/5925853/+files/Screenshot%20From%202025-11-10%2010-07-16.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2130448 Title: ssh command in 25.10 fails to connect with RSA key and waits To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssh/+bug/2130448/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
