Public bug reported:
Version:
Description: Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS
Release: 24.04
I just had my kernel version change from:
6.14.0-34-generic
to:
6.14.0-35-generic
Looking at the logs, I found the nvidia drivers (I have a 3090) failed
to load because it was not found in /lib/modules. I believe I had
something similar before, but did not debug it properly (I reinstalled).
Reverting to 6.14.0-34-generic solved it temporarily. I then found that
packages like `linux-modules-nvidia-580-6.14.0-34-generic` were
installed, but not the -35 variant.
Turns out the `linux-modules-nvidia-580-generic-hwe-24.04` package had
an updated available. Installing that update via `sudo apt install
linux-modules-nvidia-580-generic-hwe-24.04` installed the -35 variant.
Rebooting into -35 then worked fine.
Thoughts?
Kyle
