I run Kubuntu 25.10, with the backports PPA (https://launchpad.net/~kubuntu-ppa/+archive/ubuntu/backports) enabled. "apt show kubuntu-settings-desktop" says that I have version 1:25.04.2.1~ubuntu25.10~ppa1 installed.
Everything works as expected now. When I click on "Driver Management" in System Settings, I am being prompted for my password and the driver management dialog opens. If I closed it by accident before I was done with my changes, there is a big button in the System Settings window to reopen the driver manager. This also works as expected. I changed a setting and closed the driver manager, no hiccups there. When I re-opened it, the setting was still changed - works as expected. However, there is a small inconvenience: When prompted for my password, the command that will be executed is not fully visible (see screenshot) - and the window is not resizable. This could potentially hide a malicious command. Should I report this, and if so, where? Can you do anything to shorten the command, so it is visible in full? ** Attachment added: "Password dialog with abbreviated command" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kubuntu-settings/+bug/2129767/+attachment/5926463/+files/Bildschirmfoto_20251112_175254.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2129767 Title: [SRU] Kubuntu 25.10: Driver Manager does not start To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kubuntu-settings/+bug/2129767/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
