When looking for duplicates of this bug report and determining if "could
not calculate the upgrade" messages from update-manager are the same
issue looking at '/var/log/dist-upgrade/apt.log' is vital. Lots of
different errors can cause update-manager to not be able to calculate
the upgrade and that is why the error dialog asks people to add the log
files. I've undupped a few bugs that were incorrectly marked as
duplicates of this bug. Additionally, I've updated the summary / title
of this bug report to contain a relevant bit from apt.log.
