Hi,

As part of the updates services need to restart to pick up the new code,
and therefore failing to start is breaking the upgrade. That is what we
see here at the surface.

From the logs I can see that something else seems to hold the lock on
the database.

...
2025-11-02T18:22:45.122742Z 1 [ERROR] [MY-012574] [InnoDB] Unable to lock
./ibdata1 error: 11

2025-11-02T18:22:45.130217Z 1 [ERROR] [MY-012959] [InnoDB] Could not open or
create the system tablespace. If you tried to add new data files to the system
tablespace, and it failed here, you should now edit innodb_data_file_path in
my.cnf back to what it was, and remove the new ibdata files InnoDB created in
this failed attempt. InnoDB only wrote those files full of zeros, but did not
yet use them in any way. But be careful: do not remove old data files which
contain your precious data!
2025-11-02T18:22:45.130256Z 1 [ERROR] [MY-012930] [InnoDB] Plugin
initialization aborted with error Cannot open a file.

initialization failed.
2025-11-02T18:22:45.623907Z 0 [ERROR] [MY-010119] [Server] Aborting
...

I can't see in the attached logs what that might be, a conflicting DB
server self built or from third party sources is the most common case
thought.

It seems to be a local configuration issue to resolve whatever holds the
database locked.
I can't see more from the logs - maybe with that hint it makes sense to you?
