Hi Mario. I do not think these changes are appropriate for SRU. I have two primary reasons for this:
1. These represent new major upstream release versions; noble through plucky are currently at 23.0.0. This means that this does not qualify as a "new upstream microrelease"[1]. Note that even if this was a microrelease, the other requirements defined in that document are not satisfied here. 2. This package does not have an SRU exception[2] stating the proposed approach is acceptable. Based on the above, I will have to reject the uploads. Your options moving forward include: 1. Identifying individual patches that can be backported to address the issues described in the [Impact] section. 2. Consider the backports process instead.
