From HP Support: Issue Reported : experiences a critical firmware-level bug when running Linux: Thank you again for helping confirm the behavior we’ve been investigating.
At this time, there is no permanent fix available. We have identified a confirmed trigger: the issue occurs when the AC adapter is unplugged or reconnected while the laptop is in suspend mode, causing the CPU to become limited to approximately 443 MHz after wake. Temporary Workaround: Please advise users to avoid changing the AC power state while the system is sleeping. If the system does enter the reduced 443 MHz state, performing a full system reboot will restore normal CPU performance. I am escalating this to our L2 firmware/ACPI team for deeper investigation. I will provide an update as soon as we receive their findings. To strengthen the escalation, could you please share the total install base for the affected model(s) within your fleet? This information will help us prioritize and push for an urgent resolution. ... Good they are at least aware now. Will keep updated. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2088733 Title: low CPU frequency after wake up AMD Ryzen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/2088733/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
