Public bug reported:
On Ubuntu 25.10, switching input sources works normally when using the default
shortcut Super + Space.
However, if the shortcut is manually changed to Ctrl + Space, I must press Ctrl
+ Space twice for the input source to switch.
In previous Ubuntu versions (25.04 / 24.04), Ctrl + Space worked
correctly with a single press, so this appears to be a regression
introduced in Ubuntu 25.10.
This issue affects users who prefer or require Ctrl + Space (common for
Chinese input users who rely on this shortcut).
Steps to reproduce:
Install Ubuntu 25.10.
Add at least two input sources (e.g., English + Wubi).
Open Settings → Keyboard → Input Sources.
Change 'Switch to next input source' from Super + Space to Ctrl + Space.
Press Ctrl + Space once.
Expected behavior:
The input source switches immediately on a single Ctrl + Space press.
Actual behavior:
The first Ctrl + Space press does nothing.
The switch only occurs after pressing Ctrl + Space twice.
Additional notes:
Super + Space works correctly with a single press.
The issue did not exist in earlier Ubuntu versions (e.g., 25.04, 24.04).
Thank you!
