I've found recently my system sometimes is losing the `bpool` pool entry
in the /etc/zfs/zpool.cache file.
This does not break the system from booting, but does break logging in
with GDM or not being dumped into emergency mode.
There's no warning this is going to happen on the next boot, nor is it
clear by the zpool.cache file is being cleared of that entry - the only
change is I now have a another pool named "backuppool" which is hosting
a removable drive.
This report is a request for updating zfs-initramfs with an option to
bullet-proof this though - currently the only choice would be to set
ZPOOL_IMPORT_ALL_VISIBLE and then set ZFS_POOL_EXCEPTIONS in
/etc/default/zfs.
I would like (and I would argue the default _should be_) to set
something like `ZFS_POOL_IMPORT_ALWAYS` with a space separated list of
pools to *always* import if they are present, (also
`ZFS_POOL_IMPORT_REQUIRED` to block until a given pool name becomes
available perhaps?).
This would allow a value of `bpool` to be set, to guarantee the boot
pool gets imported. As it is the `rpool` gets imported reliably, and is
on the same NVMe drive - there's never a time the automatic import logic
should not import the bpool too.
