I have tested that the versions in proposed fix the issue on noble, plucky, and questing. The jammy build appears to have failed so I have not tested that yet.
For my testing I followed the test plan. Specifically, - I created a lxd container for the release - Mounted an fresh ext4 volume (containing only lost+found) to /var/lib/mysql - Installed mysql-server from proposed - Ensured that the install succeeded - Created a table in mysql - Uninstalled and reinstalled mysql-server - Insured that the table was still present I performed the above verification for (release, version) pairs (noble, 8.0.44-0ubuntu0.24.04.2) (plucky, 8.4.7-0ubuntu0.25.04.2) (questing, 8.4.7-0ubuntu0.25.10.3) ** Tags removed: verification-needed-noble verification-needed-plucky verification-needed-questing ** Tags added: verification-done-noble verification-done-plucky verification-done-questing -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2129196 Title: mysql-server fails to install when an ext4 fs is mounted to /var/lib/mysql To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-8.0/+bug/2129196/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
