After upgrading to Questing my "Time Machine" backup from MacOX laptop to Ubuntu file-server stopped working. After lots of hunting around, it turns out to be down to the removal of the fruit:posix_rename flag to address a problem experienced by Windows clients, that had an unanticipated knock-on effect of killing all time machine backups - https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_4.22_Features_added/changed Version 4.23.2 fixes the issue - https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_4.23_Features_added The samba bug tracker lists it here - https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15926 It would be great if Ubuntu could move to the newer package version ASAP to address the problem.
