Hi Jani, this update includes two sets of changes that could have caused this, let us try to separate those first.
2024.02-2ubuntu0.5 created a 60-edk2-x86_64-amdsev.json file (for bug 2122286), so that the tooling can find SEV-ES related OVMF entries. Are you running on AMD hardware? Is it SEV-ES capable? And if all that was a yes, does installing ovm-2024.02-2ubuntu0.6 yet removing /usr/share/ovmf/60-edk2-x86_64-amdsev.json fix the issue? If so please ensure that this is not just a false positive - move the file away and back and see if it consistently works/fails. Another way to separate 0.5 to 0.6 could be using the deb files from https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/edk2/2024.02-2ubuntu0.5 which have only one of the changes. How do they behave? The next change in this is 2024.02-2ubuntu0.6 which is a collection of security fixes. The changelog at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/edk2/2024.02-2ubuntu0.6 lists quite some changes. If you can verify or falsify above if the changes in 0.5 or 0.6 have been the culprint of your issues we can mark this as a regression and look at the respective changes. Furthermore in any case, is there any log or other information that helps to see how behavior changed? Were you able to break down the good/bad case into a simple e.g. qemu commandline that can be compared? If so please share it here as it will help debugging a lot. ** Changed in: edk2 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2133157 Title: ovmf 2024.02-2ubuntu0.6 broke UEFI network boot for VMs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/edk2/+bug/2133157/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
