Public bug reported: After running some games under Wine, such as Elder Scrolls Online, sometimes gnome-shell gets stuck in a state where it's spinning its main thread at 100% calling drmModeAtomicAddProperty() according to sysprof. The Settings > About page indicates that it's using the Intel integrated graphics instead of software rendering, and nvidia-smi shows gnome-shell sitting on the discrete card, but the excessive CPU implies to me that it's not using either (from my limited understanding of what drmModeAtomicAddProperty() is for).
Note that this is using Wayland, though I called ubuntu-bug on a session under Xorg to try to see if getting away from Wayland fixes the issue.
