@Skia, the reason for installing fuse is that OpenShot-v3.3.0-x86_64.AppImage, and possibly other app images, will not run without it. An error message is displayed that fuse is required.
There is a video that shows fuse installation removing ubuntu-desktop, ubuntu-session, nautilus, and other critical system components. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_8oFG13upU (at about 1:30). This is a major error that terminates the login session and prevents the computer from starting. There are numerous reports of this on Ask Ubuntu, Reddit, and Unix Stack Exchange. It affects multiple users. The package installation needs to be fixed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2083496 Title: Installation of Fuse for AppImage Support Causes GDM Failure To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fuse/+bug/2083496/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
