Thanks for the report and sorry for the delayed response. Can you please
run:
*journalctl -f
*dbus-monitor --session
then try again and see if anything suspicious happens when you click
restart? Alternatively just append 'journalctl -rn1000' after clicking
restart.
It's not a problem with update-manager (e.g. contrast with LP:2100965)
as the Dbus call is working, must be Gnome Session or Gnome Shell
itself.
