** Description changed: When switching user in Ubuntu gnome session, a popup appears on the GDM greeter screen asking a password "Authentication needed to change user data". The request can be cancelled or password can be provided, there is no difference. But when just waiting, the computer freezes after a while. I had the problem since 25.10 on a Ubuntu upgraded over the years. As I couldn't fix the problem I have finally reinstalled from scratch, but the problem is still there. The issue maybe related to polkit.
