Public bug reported:

After updating from kernel 6.14.0-35 to 6.14.0-37, WiFi stopped working
completely on my ASUS ROG Strix G733PZV, which uses a MediaTek MT7922 WiFi
card. The network interfaces disappeared entirely and NetworkManager couldn't
detect any wireless hardware.
The issue was caused by the linux-modules-extra-6.14.0-37-generic package not
being automatically installed during the kernel update. The mt7921e driver
module, which is required for MediaTek WiFi chips, is only included in the
-extra package and was therefore missing from the new kernel.
Manually reinstalling linux-modules-extra-6.14.0-37-generic resolved the issue
immediately, and the WiFi interface came back online.
I'm requesting that the kernel meta-package create a hard dependency on the
matching linux-modules-extra package rather than just recommending it. MediaTek
WiFi chips are increasingly common in modern gaming laptops and consumer
hardware, and breaking WiFi on kernel updates is a severe regression that
shouldn't require manual intervention to fix.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
