I compiled the Linux kernel with the defaults (including the
CONFIG_PREEMPT_LAZY instead of CONFIG_PREEMPT_VOLUNTARY used by Debian) and
after 48 hours: zero key repeats. I decided to compile with full preempt
(CONFIG_PREEMPT) and I'm already 24 hours without any key repeats.
I'm hopeful. I will come back in a couple of days to tell if this holds on.

Step by step of what I've done:
1. I got the 6.18.1 tar bal from https://www.kernel.org/ and extracted the
content
2. I copied my config from /boot/config-6.17.9+deb14-amd64
3. make localmodconfig and make nconfig and adjusted the PREEMPT
4. I used a server to compile the kernel
