I have confirmed this problem has gone from Kubuntu resolute-desktop- amd64.iso( daily build 2025-12-16).
- After a clean install, I can log in without a problem. - After installing open-vm-tools-desktop, I can log in without problem. Tested on the VMware Workstation Pro v17.6.4.
