I attempted to make the requisite changes, but the package is quite out of date since there haven't been build failures since 6.8 until the 6.17 HWE kernel for Noble. I looked through the upstream changelog and noticed tons of 6.x compatibility patches that haven't been picked up, so the DKMS package itself seems quite out of date.
To that end, it made more sense to me to backport the latest devel version back to Noble. However, upstream virtualbox is now checking for qt6 (at least version 6.8 at that). While Noble has version 6.4 (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qt6-wayland), modifying the check to allow 6.4 leads to further compilation issues. I think this requires further effort from virtualbox maintainers for the time being. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2136499 Title: virtualbox-dkms FTBS in Noble with the linux-6.17 kernel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/virtualbox/+bug/2136499/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
