Hi Kristian, have you made any progress with this? I have the same problem. Just got an Asus Vivobook, different model but the same CPU and Graphics, and it seems to be an ASUS problem.
/sys/class/power_supply/BAT_0/status is constantly changing back and forth between "discharging" and "not charging" when it is not plugged in. That is wrong. moving up the chain upower changes it to "on-battery: true" and "on- battery: false" then gnome interprets it in a manner that plays the sound (and for me it used to toggle the icon but for some reason that stopped). i have not tried updating firmware but that apparently does not work what do you think the next step is? does the OS do anything with this information aside from informing the user? i suspect now, so what i have done is simply to remove those files (they are symbolic links on my system). now the sounds are not played. WHAT A RELIEF. UNUSABLE WITH THOSE SOUNDS. however, they of course are now not played when you plug in the external power supply/charger. that is too bad, but worth the cost. i think that upower should have a way to configure it to avoid erroneous hardware. comments appreciated. i dont use ubuntu but fedora. same problem there. had to get account here just to comment. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2130956 Title: [Vivobook M3607H] Random AC power events To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe-6.14/+bug/2130956/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
