Public bug reported:
Subject: Regression: Kernel 6.14.0-1018-oem Panic on GMKtec EVO-X2
(Persists without peripherals)
System: Ubuntu 24.04 (OEM Kernel) Hardware: GMKtec EVO-X2 (Mini PC)
Initial Topology: Frontside USB4 -> WavLink ThunderDock Elite (WL-UTD45)
-> RAID Enclosure.
Issue Description: Hard boot regression on linux-image-6.14.0-1018-oem.
Upon updating from 1017 to 1018, the system enters a Kernel Panic ("Pink
Screen") during boot.
Testing Performed:
Initial State: Booted 1018 with Dock/RAID connected -> Kernel Panic.
Isolation Test: Physically disconnected the Dock (and RAID) completely.
Booted 1018 with no USB4 peripherals attached -> Kernel Panic persisted.
Verification: Booted previous kernel 6.14.0-1017-oem -> Boot Successful.
Current Working Configuration (on Kernel 1017):
Backside USB4 -> Direct RAID connection.
Frontside USB4 -> WavLink Dock.
System is stable.
Conclusion: The 1018 kernel appears fundamentally broken for the GMKtec
EVO-X2 platform, independent of attached Thunderbolt peripherals.
** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
