Public bug reported: Please investigate whether it is possible to use ayatana-indicator- keyboard instead of indicator-keyboard.
This is a good way to stop using libgnomekbd in the keyboard indicator (LP: #2136945) ayatana-indicator-keyboard is used by Lomiri. If ayatana-indicator-keyboard is a drop-in replacement, this task could be as simple as 1. Turn indicator-keyboard into a transitional package. Transitional packages generally need to be kept until they are included in an Ubuntu LTS. 2. Switch Depends and Recommends from indicator-keyboard to ayatana-indicator-keyboard. The reverse-depends tool helps identify affected packages. Or maybe code changes are needed.
